DPA Consultants was founded by David Pownall, who has 35 years experience as a professional HR practitioner in corporate and consultancy roles, built on early success managing employee relations in the turbulent times of the seventies.
David has an MSc in Strategic Personnel and Development, where he researched the benefits to individual clients of the components of outplacement programmes and the issue of self-confidence during the outplacement process, adding to the body of knowledge in these areas, and subsequently enhancing the value and benefits of the DPA Career Management and Personal Development programmes on offer.
He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, where his experience of working and managing across all aspects of the HR profession is recognised by the CIPD who have licensed him to advise and assess on every one of the UK practitioner and advanced practitioner standards of the Institute's professional assessment scheme.
As an Expert Witness on employment issues, David has prepared around fifty reports for the Courts. His work on proving that that the former chief executive of a PLC had failed to mitigate his loss went unchallenged.
David project manages all assignments personally, ensuring the rigorous quality standards he sets for the company are maintained at all times. He only matches consultants to assignments where the consultant has sufficient experience of the work to be undertaken and can fit comfortably into the culture of the company.
